So now the US president believes China – a world leader in wind energy – doesn’t have any wind turbines i.e. "windmills" as the president refers to them.
The news was there to watch and listen. Addressing a crowd outside the White House on Friday (July 4th), the US president offered the following: “I have never seen a wind farm in China. Why is that?”
Well, the reality is China is the “global renewable energy leader” hosting “nearly half of the world’s total operating wind and solar capacity” – per a 2023 report from the non-profit research organization, Global Energy Monitor.
Maybe the president simply doesn't know how out in front of renewable energy and EVs and solar, and batteries... and more... China is... why is that?
China accounted for half the global increase in wind and solar last year, reports show. Why doesn't he know?
The Gansu wind farm is the largest onshore wind farm in the world... And the facts are there as nations race to have the best technologies today and tomorrow.
Renewables are here to stay Mr. President. Fossil fuels are finite. The fossil fuels will 'not last forever' as the sayng goes. It's 'high time' to expand into the new world, with knowledge and responsibility -- and act on behalf of American vision and foresight.
Yet some are stubbornly 'Luddite'. take Republican congressman Tim Burchett from Tennessee for example, who told Fox News the day after the president's misinformation about China's energy production that the president said to him “there are no windmills” in the country.
This comes on the heels of H.R.1, the president's newly signed big bill and its deep cuts to US renewable energy across the government with impacts across the world.
This administration's legacy will produce results to examine, consequential, stark and telling results as time goes on...
