These world-class centers-of-excellence employ hundreds of the nation’s top weather and climate scientists and deploy key technology to help forecasters accurately predict the world’s most extreme weather. The history of many of the over two dozen labs and institutes slated for closure stretches back 50 to 75 years...

Alex Steffan: "A generational loss for hurricane forecasting..." Millions of hurricane-exposed Americans... might want to know that this loss of predictive capacity will make their brittle assets lose more value, more quickly... Many get that the Trump gang is accelerating climate chaos.
